We are a dedicated team which strives to provide success to our clients in regards to all their accountancy needs. Our team is very close-knit and ensures that a unified support is provided to you whenever you need it. With expertise covering all aspects of accountancy, taxation and business advisory services, we are well placed to help you plan for the future as well as dealing with specific matters.

Leon Marshall, C.A.

Chartered Accountant. Registered Auditor and Insolvency Practitioner

Leon joined Stevenson & Kyles in 1967 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1972, that year being joint winner of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland Gold Medal for the top student of the year.

He remained with Stevenson & Kyles, being appointed a Partner in 1974, and he has been Senior Partner in the firm since 1995.

Leon has many years of experience advising a wide range of clients – individuals, sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies- in all aspects of accountancy, taxation, and tax planning, including Tax/VAT investigations. He is also authorised to act as an Insolvency Practitioner by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

Leon lives in Kilmacolm and is married with three children and five step children. His oldest son, Douglas, is also a Chartered Accountant and is a partner with Stevenson & Kyles.

Jim Weir, C.A.

Chartered Accountant and Registered Auditor

Jim qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1977 after having served his apprenticeship with Wylie & Bisset.

He then moved into industry as Head of Finance for Edbro Scotland Limited, a manufacturer of aluminium bodies and tipping gears for the Transport Industry. After Edbro became a subsidiary of a Public Limited Company (PLC), he gained not only raw industrial experience but also acquired valuable knowledge working for a PLC, producing Management Accounts, Cash Flows and Budgets, etc.

In 1980, he returned to the profession, working as a qualified assistant with Stevenson & Kyles, and was appointed a Partner in 1985.

Jim’s experience in practical accounting, auditing and taxation is complemented by his industrial knowledge. He is responsible for a wide variety of clients, assisting in their development and continued growth.

Jim is a keen golfer, enjoys rugby and is a member of Rotary.

Mark Dunn. BACC. C.A.

Chartered Accountant and Registered Auditor

Mark graduated with a BACC degree from the University of Glasgow in 1985 and followed in his father’s footsteps, joining Stevenson & Kyles, and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1989.

He then gained valuable wider professional experience as an assistant with Ernst & Young, before returning to Stevenson & Kyles, being appointed a Partner in 1991.

Mark has a wide range of clients throughout Scotland and beyond, and specialises in providing accounting and taxation services to owner-managed businesses.

Douglas Marshall, BSc. C.A.

Chartered Accountant

Douglas graduated from Strathclyde University in 2004 with a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science and worked for IBM for several years before joining Stevenson & Kyles as a trainee in 2008. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2012 and was appointed a Partner in 2018.

Douglas has aided and advised a wide range of clients, from large international companies to the smallest sole traders, in all fields of tax and accounting including assisting clients in HMRC investigations into VAT, income tax, and corporation tax. He has been instrumental in seeing clients through setting up and closing down companies, and advising on valuations and acquisitions of existing businesses.

Drawing on his experience prior to Stevenson & Kyles, Douglas is also involved in the I.T. side of the business; implementing systems essential to the day to day running of the firm, ensuring data protection compliance, and assisting clients in setting up their own bookkeeping systems.

Douglas is a keen woodworker and enjoys spending time in the garage making sawdust, and occasionally furniture. He plays bass guitar and has played in a number of bands in the past, though now enjoys making music at home. He lives in Greenhills with his wife and two step-daughters, all of whom wildly surpass his own artistic endeavours.

Jagi Kalsi, BAcc. C.A.

Chartered Accountant

Jagi graduated with a BAcc degree from the University of Stirling and joined Stevenson & Kyles as a CA Trainee in 2006. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2010 and was appointed a Partner in 2018.

Jagi is experienced in many aspects of accountancy and taxation, in particular, owner managed businesses and the Professional Health & IT sectors.

Jagi is a keen hillwalker and has recently returned to playing field hockey. He enjoys keeping up to date with advancements in science and is a subscriber to New Scientist magazine

Amardeep Kalsi BA. C.A.

Amardeep graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Accounting and Economics from the University of Strathclyde. He has worked in general accountancy practice since graduating and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2014. Amardeep joined Stevenson & Kyles in 2018 and was appointed a partner in 2021.

Amardeep is experienced in many aspects of accountancy, taxation, and auditing. He is involved in assisting clients throughout a range of different sectors and has a particular interest in owner managed businesses.

Outside of work, Amardeep enjoys playing football, badminton, and golf. He also enjoys the occasional hill walk and has an interest in Formula One.
