Douglas Marshall, BSc. C.A.
Chartered Accountant
Douglas graduated from Strathclyde University in 2004 with a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science and worked for IBM for several years before joining Stevenson & Kyles as a trainee in 2008. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2012 and was appointed a Partner in 2018.
Douglas has aided and advised a wide range of clients, from large international companies to the smallest sole traders, in all fields of tax and accounting including assisting clients in HMRC investigations into VAT, income tax, and corporation tax. He has been instrumental in seeing clients through setting up and closing down companies, and advising on valuations and acquisitions of existing businesses.
Drawing on his experience prior to Stevenson & Kyles, Douglas is also involved in the I.T. side of the business; implementing systems essential to the day to day running of the firm, ensuring data protection compliance, and assisting clients in setting up their own bookkeeping systems.
Douglas is a keen woodworker and enjoys spending time in the garage making sawdust, and occasionally furniture. He plays bass guitar and has played in a number of bands in the past, though now enjoys making music at home. He lives in Greenhills with his wife and two step-daughters, all of whom wildly surpass his own artistic endeavours.
